This piece seeks to provide readers with a brief understanding of the discipline of "dark tourism" in order to create a conversation around the role that dark tourism plays in a divided society like Northern Ireland, specifically Belfast, as it continues to develop as a post-conflict state.

Children in Crossfire Internship Placement and Seminar
This paper discusses the work of and my role within Children in Crossfire, which is the organization I spent four months interning at in the spring of 2016 in Derry, Northern Ireland.
Within this collaborative effort, my colleagues from Earlham College and I discuss the historical, political, and social consequences of the 1981 Hunger Strike that took place in during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. This paper seeks to unpack the significance of the Hunger Strike to the communities in conflict, while also exploring Hunger Strikes' impact on the peace process and contemporary politics in Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland: Building A Sustainable Democracy
It is impossible to drive through Belfast without crossing paths with one of many of the political murals that cover the city. These murals are accessible to the public, and serve as a platform, often for working class artists to convey political and social messages to community members, as well as to outsiders and visitors. This paper seeks to introduce readers to a brief history of murals, while exploring their historical and contemporary socio-political influencein Loyalist/Unionist and Republican/Nationalist communities in Northern Ireland.
